Robin

Thanks! Tweet-ups I believe work as people are part of a community that we all know about. Regular networking events when you say twitter many times you get a blank stare and people know nothing about it and the conversation pretty much ends.

Being helpful - best advice you can give to anyone online. This helps with building a relationship with people. It also comes back on you as when you need help, people flock to help those who arehelpful to othersl

This is a great straight-forward list. I have had the opportunity to meet many helpful, smart, and interesting people at Tweet-ups, as mentioned in number 6. The people who attend seem to be inclusive and very welcoming to new comers. Although it is not always possible to meet in person, when you do, it can be a great boost to your online relationship.

As far as number 4 goes, I have found that a little bit of helpfulness goes a long way in this environment.
